Of particular importance to the botanical artist community, this parchment is archival in quality and is available in calf and deer. These skins are stretched, extensively scraped and sanded, and finally coated with gesso to create a smooth, consistent surface and an even, creamy white color. This preparation makes the parchment perfect for the calligraphic, oil, and many other arts with its partially absorbent surface, smooth finish, and ability to finely scrape and reshape if adjustments need to be made.
