Within the past few years Oxblood has become a "must have" in the fashion and interior design world. And with such a high demand for this alluring color we simply couldn't resist creating our own!
Our leathers are tanned with a traditional vegetable tanning method using chestnut extract and are drum-dyed using aniline dyes giving rich and earthy colors. These hides are all naked, natural grained leathers with no embossing or corrections. Goatskin has an unusual grain reminiscent of old world beauty and craft. Our vegetable tanned deerskin is made from hides delivered to our door by local hunters. Like our calfskins, it is very soft and supple, but shows the wild character of the animal through plenty of scars and scratches. When seen next to more a standard cowhide, its appearance is striking. Add to that its depth of texture, natural vegetable tanned firmness, and the rich earthy colors and you have an unusually beautiful leather that works well for wallets, handbags, purses and more. It tools well, burnishes nicely and provides deep character.
Our Catskill line of leathers are split to a weight of 4 oz./1.6 mm weight perfect for accessories, interior design, and furniture projects.
Our Hudson line of leathers are split to a weight of 2 oz/.8 mm and is suitable for book conservation and fine binding.
Our Durham line of leathers are split to a weight of 2 oz./. 8mm and has an appealing satin polish.
